{"id":879,"date":"2023-07-25T15:48:24","date_gmt":"2023-07-25T15:48:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cake.appscodestudio.com\/?p=879"},"modified":"2023-07-25T15:48:25","modified_gmt":"2023-07-25T15:48:25","slug":"beef-and-monterey-rice","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cake.appscodestudio.com\/index.php\/2023\/07\/25\/beef-and-monterey-rice\/","title":{"rendered":"Beef and Monterey Rice"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ingredients<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>4 cups long grain rice, uncooked<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>4 lbs ground beef<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2.5 quarts water<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>4 (10-ounce) cans of mild diced tomatoes with green chilies<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bd cup chili powder<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bc cup dried oregano leaves<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 tablespoons sugar<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 tablespoon, plus 1 teaspoon salt<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>3 tablespoons worcestershire sauce<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1\u00bd lbs monterey jack cheese, shredded<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1\u00bd cups fresh cilantro, chopped (optional)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Directions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Heat a large stock pot over medium-high heat. Add the beef and cook until no longer pink, stirring to break up larger pieces. Stir in the onion and cook 5 minutes or until onions are slightly translucent, stirring frequently.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stir in the water, tomatoes, chili powder, oregano, sugar, salt, and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a boil over high heat. Stir in the rice. Return to a boil, stir rice again, reduce heat, cover and cook on low heat for 22 minutes or until rice is just tender. Stir until well blended. (Note: the mixture will thicken when stirred.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Remove from heat. Combine the cheese with the cilantro and toss until well blended.&nbsp; Serve each topped with \u00bc cup of the cheese mixture.
