{"id":829,"date":"2023-07-25T14:34:27","date_gmt":"2023-07-25T14:34:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cake.appscodestudio.com\/?p=829"},"modified":"2023-07-25T14:34:28","modified_gmt":"2023-07-25T14:34:28","slug":"tomato-rice-recipes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cake.appscodestudio.com\/index.php\/2023\/07\/25\/tomato-rice-recipes\/","title":{"rendered":"Tomato Rice recipes"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ingredients<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>1 cup basmati rice, cooked and cooled<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u2153 cup peanuts<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 tablespoon avocado oil or another neutral oil<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 teaspoon mustard seed<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>pinch of hing (asafetida)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1\u00bd tablespoons chana dal (sub toor dal or urad dal)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bd red onion, finely chopped<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>4 garlic cloves, minced<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 inch ginger, peeled and minced<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 tomato, diced<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>3 tomatoes, pureed into a paste<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>kosher salt to taste<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 teaspoon ground coriander<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bd teaspoon turmeric&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bc -\u00bd&nbsp; teaspoon garam masala<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bd teaspoon red chili powder<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bd teaspoon kashmiri chili&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>cilantro, for garnish<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Directions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Toast peanuts on a pan with a little oil until crisp and golden. Set them aside.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add avocado oil or another neutral oil to a medium pan over medium heat. Add mustard seeds. When they start to crackle, add a pinch of hing. Let it bloom for 30 seconds.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add chana dal and fry until golden-brown, so about 2-3 minutes.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add onion. Cook for about 5 minutes or until translucent. Add garlic and ginger. Cook for about 2 minutes or until the raw smell fades.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add the diced tomato, tomato paste, and salt to taste to help the tomato juices evaporate. Cook until the tomato juices substantially reduce.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add all the ground spices and gently stir into the tomatoes. Add the cooled rice and stir for a few minutes. Taste and adjust for salt.
