Ingredients:
- 2 cups water
- 2 tablespoons ground coffee (medium to dark roast)
- 1 stick of cinnamon
- 2-3 slices of dried orange peel (optional)
- 1 small piece of piloncillo (or 1 tablespoon brown sugar)
Method:
- In a medium saucepan, add the water, cinnamon stick, and piloncillo (or brown sugar). Bring to a simmer, stirring occasionally until the sugar dissolves.
- Add the coffee grounds and continue to simmer for 5-7 minutes, letting the coffee steep and absorb the spices.
- Remove from heat and strain the coffee into mugs.
- Serve hot, optionally garnished with more cinnamon or a slice of orange.
