Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoon orange juice
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 egg
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest

For Toppings

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest

How to make Orange Cake

  • Step 1. Mix flour and baking powder togetherTo prepare this easy cake recipe, sieve together flour & baking powder and set aside.
  • Step 2. Cream together butter and sugarCream together butter and sugar till frothy. Once done, add one egg at a time and beat well again.
  • Step 3. Prepare the cake batterNow, reduce the speed of the mixer & add the dry mixture alternating with milk. Then, add the orange juice & zest. Pour this batter in a cake or loaf pan. Sprinkle some zest on top.
  • Step 4. Bake for 30-45 minutesBake this Orange Cake in a preheated oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 30-45 minutes.
  • Step 5. Make the glazeFor making the glaze, mix together orange juice, zest and sugar. Cook on slow heat for a few mins till the sugar has dissolved. Drizzle the glaze over the hot cake and the cake soak up all the glaze.
  • Step 6. Cool the cake completely before cutting into slices. Serve with a dollop of whipped cream.
