Ingredients
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 2 egg
- 4 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1/2 cup fresh cream
- 2 drops edible food color
- 1/2 cup butter
- 150 gm honey
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 200 gm powdered sugar
For Garnishing
- 100 gm icing sugar
- 2 tablespoon candied peels
- 1/2 handful lemon rinds
How to make Honey Lemon Cake
- Step 1 Mix the dry ingredients & beat the butter & sugarTo prepare this delicious cake, take a large bowl and sieve together all-purpose flour and baking powder. Then, add butter and sugar in a separate bowl and beat them together until soft peaks form and it is creamy, light and fluffy.
- Step 2 Prepare the cake batterNext, crack eggs in a large bowl one by one and beat them well. Once done, add all-purpose flour mixture to the beaten eggs and fold them together using a spatula. Then, add 2-3 drops of lemon colour in the mixture along with honey and lemon juice. Mix all the ingredients well.
- Step 3 Pour the batter in a tin & bakeNow, take a cake tin and grease with a little butter and then line it with a greaseproof paper. Pour the cake batter in the prepared tin. Bake the cake in the preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius for 20-25 minutes.
- Step 4 Cover with icing before serving!Meanwhile, mix together the icing sugar, fresh cream, and a drop of lemon colour. Once you are done mixing the frosting, keep it aside. By now, the cake would be ready. Take it out. Put a nice and even layer of the icing on the cake and garnish with lemon rinds and candied peels.
