Ingredients
- 2 tablespoon cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
- 1/2 cup butter
- 10 tablespoon powdered sugar
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 4 tablespoon yoghurt (curd)
- 1/2 tablespoon baking soda
- 1/4 cup water
How to make Chocolate Sponge Cake
- Step 1. Melt the butter & combine curd with baking sodaTo begin with, add butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Next, microwave the bowl for 30 seconds or until the butter is melted. Keep it aside. Then in a deep bowl, add curd followed by adding baking soda. Stir and mix well with a spoon. Keep the mixture aside until needed again.
- Step 2. Sieve cocoa powder and all-purpose flour & mix butter and sugarNow, sieve the mixture of cocoa powder and all-purpose flour with a strainer. Keep this sifted flour mixture aside for later. Then in another bowl, add 1/4 cup water and heat it. To this, add melted butter and powdered sugar. Stir until the sugar completely dissolves.
- Step 3. Combine the butter & flour mixtures to make a cake batterTo the prepared butter mixture, add sifted flour mixture followed by vanilla essence and curd mixture. Mix well using a spoon and avoid any clumps.
- Step 4. Pour cake batter in a greased tray & microwave for 3-4 minutesGrease a tray with butter and add the prepared batter in it. Microwave it for 3 to 4 minutes. Once done, allow the cake to settle for another 5 to 6 minutes. Slice and serve!
