Classic Vietnamese Egg Coffee

Ingredients:

  • 1-2 tablespoons strong Vietnamese ground coffee (or robusta coffee)
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tablespoon sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tablespoon sugar (optional)
  • Hot water

Steps:

  1. Brew Coffee: Brew your strong Vietnamese coffee using a phin filter or any method you prefer.
  2. Prepare the Egg Mixture: In a bowl, whisk together the egg yolk, sweetened condensed milk, and sugar (if using) until smooth and creamy.
  3. Combine: Pour the hot brewed coffee into a cup, then gently spoon the egg mixture on top of the coffee.
  4. Serve: Stir the egg mixture into the coffee just before drinking for a rich, creamy flavor.
