Ingredients:
- 1 shot of espresso (optional, for a matcha mocha twist)
- 2 tsp matcha powder (ceremonial grade preferred)
- 6 oz steamed milk (oat milk works great for a creamy texture)
- 1 tbsp simple syrup (or sweetener of choice)
- Matcha powder (for garnish)
Steps:
- Whisk the Matcha: In a small bowl, sift 2 teaspoons of matcha powder to remove clumps. Add about 1 oz of hot water (around 175°F) and whisk vigorously until the matcha becomes frothy and smooth.
- Brew the Espresso (Optional): If you want to make a Matcha Mocha Latte, brew a single shot of espresso.
- Steam the Milk: Steam 6 oz of milk until smooth and creamy.
- Combine: Pour the steamed milk into the matcha mixture (or add the espresso before the milk if making a mocha version).
- Sweeten: Add a tablespoon of simple syrup to sweeten (optional).
- Top (Optional): Garnish with a dusting of matcha powder on top for a beautiful green color.
